Thinking about the flow of traffic through the bus and around the bus I started to sketch the patterns created by bodies moving in and out of the lowerdeck during a recent short bus ride. I discovered the process of annotating them within the construct of the floorplan hints at a sense of memory in the bus, a transitory impression of the people who shared a certain space in fleeting time over distance together. I recorded the time and location of the mobile narrative and also denoted entering, exiting and stationary passengers via coloured lines. The annotated mobility on the floor plan is dense despite the short period of time and curiously it felt that it was a very quiet period of travel. I began to imagine how the interwoven threads might appear on the bus when travelling through Oxford Street or Kings Cross.
