the street
Barry - Russell Sq.
The cabbie caf was filled with the noise of everyone's conversations cutting across the small room. Words mixed with laughter, the sounds of eggs frying and the continuous ringing of teaspoons stiring sugar in china mugs
Amber - Soho
"I can’t really hear buses with my helmet on but I can sense the...and even taste them if I am sitting behind the exhaust and that's not very nice".

interviews
observations
- just a few of the interviews and they are currently unlinked but i'll fix this soon

drivers Bob - " ...it gets extremely hot. You can open all the windows and doors, but you are sat on top of the engine so it’s not the ideal situation."

David
- "You wouldn’t believe where people come from sometimes. They come from nowhere, trying to get on. The driver has to look in his mirror but you have to look forward as well so he doesn’t always see, especially when they come from the back".

John - on Oyster cards- "I have had some great laughs with that. One bloke standing three foot away from the machine. Is it not working. I said I’m sorry mate, you’re watching too much star trek.."

conductors

Bashka - If you do one shift like I do what happens is that you pick up the same passengers every day....on the same route. I always pick up the same people from Euston, Kings Cross and Islington and they always know me.

Ray - "There’s not a day that goes by when something doesn't happen. You know. It’s interesting, it really is.."

Bert - "A lot of it is trust. There's no communication when you’re working. ...the only communication you’ve got between you are the bells...it may sound a bit strange, but it's like it's not that you know what they’re thinking sort of thing, it's like there’s a feeling.."
