The hot seat. The front right hand seat is directly behind the driver and the engine, which makes it hot and slightly claustrophobic. The front window is blacked out by a concertina curtain which is controlled by the driver so the only view is from the side window. Occasionally you can peak around the curtain edges and the drivers view is worth the discomfort. Posted by Kat | July 28, 2003.
Dangerous objects . Without a car, I use the bus for picking up things. I once bought a small box of kitchen tiles. Surprised by its weight, I found I could no longer walk down the aisle to a seat. A short stumble became a run and with the weight of the tiles my velocity increased. I could anticipate corners but I couldn’t respond appropriately to them. My bus entry and exit was dangerous and embarrassing. Posted by Kat | July 2, 2003. Euston Road to Stoke Newington. |
