The last ride. I checked out some details on the London Bus Page and there are plans to run vintage buses etc along the 73 route on the 3rd Sept. Some of them will run out to Hammersmith, apparently once a part of the route. The very last 73 Routemaster is scheduled to leave Victoria at 00.54 on Sat 4th Sept. Flash mob, anyone? Flash mob?. Flash mob for sure. Friday night, top deck, flask of tea and hankies to wipe away the tears. Friday night, top deck, flask of tea and hankies to wipe away the tears. Posted by: Ilona | August 27, 2004

Making history. From my experience trying to ride on the very last scheduled No. 8 Routemaster, there'll be an awful lot of people trying to be on the top deck of that last bus. I was lucky, but you may need more than tea and biscuits to battle your way on board ahead of the serial bus fanatics.
It's never easy being part of history, particularly when you wish history wasn't being made in the first place.

The 73 send off. Plan to ride the 73 route for most of Friday night with balloons and French fancies for the conductors. We must give the 73 the send-off it truely deserves! Posted by: Anna Noo | August 31, 2004
