Lights. Late night, foggy autumn, back then in the 80's the 73 had little round lamps to light the decks, the bus glowed in a warm light. It was comforting. Posted by: simon | August 31, 2004| 08:10 PM

Fare fights
.
Most mornings there's a group of young male teenagers getting on the top deck of the 73 at Newington Green about 8AM, where I also hop on. The conductors know only too well that they're only going to the end of Church St.(for the college I assume) and are not about to surrender £1 for the privilege. Some take them on, others let it go - sometimes there's belligerence, swagger and attitude, sometimes resignation and begrudging compliance. Always entertaining though.
