He was trying to engage her in conversation. His voice was loud. Hers was soft. Passengers around me were silent, interested, listening. I could feel people beside and behind me watching the conversation between the woman in the black jacket and the bearded man. They were seated in front of me. He tried to make her sing a song with him. She refused and he shuffled in his seatas if to turn around.
