Week 1

Semester One

Week 2

Session 8 (26th Oct)
- Case Study: Design at Intel

In the second this term’s case studies, Michele Chang from the computer chip manufacturer Intel will be demonstrating how the design process works at this high technology company, and will show the range of ideas which may be used to look at future uses and applications of products. How radical can design be? Can it be subversive or has it always got its eye on the mass market and a standardized solution?

[Intel is increasingly employing sociology and anthropology graduates as interns and researchers, so if you think you might be interested in applied research in industry, ask Michele about how it is done.]
