- Branding New Technologies
At the beginning of the course we discussed the circuit of cultures and the ways in which cultures of production included not only design, but also advertising. In this lecture we will discuss the way in which branding has been discussed by sociologists. We will discuss the claim that marketing is a ‘performative’ activity and that the brand (eg Sony, Intel) in itself acts as an ‘interface’.
