SIAN GRIFFITHS - BBC Filmmaker

Sian is a BBC Filmmaker on secondment to INCITE, funded by BBC Training and Development's Attachment scheme, a staff development programme which provides opportunities for BBC staff to build on their existing skills, develop new skills and extend their networks. Her interest was sparked by the current BBC reorganisation (Making It Happen) which prioritised Creativity and Serving all sectors of the BBC's Audiences.

Her aim is to accrue a thorough understanding of the many methodologies which shed light on the lives of the British public, and to develop the ability to translate research questions and insights into terms that "make sense" inside the BBC. Ultimately she hopes to use Humanities research to inform the creative process of programme development. She is currently embarking on a study of internet usage in families and doing the research for a short film for INCITE about one of the many aspects of its work.
